Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. is a non-profit housing, development and management corporation formed in 1966 by the members of Eta Tau Lambda chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. is the oldest predominately black collegiate Greek-Lettered fraternity. Eta Tau Lambda chapter, located in Akron, OH, is an alumni chapter Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. While community service is the hallmark of all Alpha chapters, Eta Tau Lambda, through its creation of Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc., has been a pioneer in non-profit development and management of affordable housing for low and moderate-income families and the elderly.


Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. maintains well-run rental and for-sale residential properties. In addition, tenants enjoy social and recreational programs organized by live-in resident managers amid service coordinators trained to work with low-income families and elderly individuals. Alpha Phi Alpha Homes, Inc. has developed a variety of programs to enable each tenant to live the fullest and most productive life. Service Coordinators provide the linkages to connect tenants in need with service providers who can ease the burden of poverty, disability and infirmity.
